The site is located in a quiet residential street close to the amenities of Muswell Hill and benefits from stunning views across London.
JDA proposed to reduce the current made-up ground, to its natural level, creating an additional, lower ground floor for the proposed buildings and reducing the large retaining walls facing the neighbouring gardens. Working closely with the planning consultant (Duncan Gibson Consultancy) and design officers at Haringey Council, we developed a design which is contemporary, but at the same time references the local vernacular by way of its scale, the use of traditional materials and detailing.
