Jordans – Remodelled and extended 1950's house
Reimagining the original property to create a contemporary family home
This wonderful house is a fine example of mid-1950's architecture located in a Green Belt Settlement on the edge of Jordans Village in Buckinghamshire.
Working closely with our client, JDA designed a large new extension to be grafted on to the rear of the house in the form of undulating roof volumes that echoed the form of the original and protected views across the house from neighbouring properties. The extension knits the old with the new, rationalising the circulation and providing dining, kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom and laundry accommodation. The interior of the original building was extensively remodelled in conjunction with the new elements.
