Winner of 'Best Architecture Single Residence Buckinghamshire' award at the UK Property Awards 2023-2024

We are incredibly proud that for the second year running we have been presented with the “Best Architecture Single Residence Buckinghamshire” award at the UK Property Awards 2023-2024, this time for our Cradle Coombe project.

The proposal sought to replace a tired and non-descript bungalow with a new two-storey home of high-quality design, lower running costs and with a layout better suited to modern family life. The site is located within both the Green Belt and Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty and gaining planning approval required considerable negotiation with the LPA to agree its size, appearance, and new central location within the plot.

The design concept for the house was to create a modern interpretation of the traditional family home, taking traditional, vernacular forms and materials but using them in a contemporary fashion. The ground floor ‘plinth’ is all brick and includes a glazed single storey ‘wrap around’ element, while the first floor and roof are clad in natural slate and include a bank of mini gabled feature windows. Both the house and garage were designed to be read as a pair, through their use of matching materials, form, and detailing.
