Hedgerley - Contemporary Extension

A contemporary front porch and extension to a Grade II listed building

Planning approval and Listed Building Consent has recently been granted for a new front entrance porch to this Grade II Listed house in Hedgerley, Buckinghamshire.

Our brief was to replace the existing 1960’s porch extension with a more welcoming entrance and enhance the historic element of the building with a something more modern and aesthetically pleasing. The proposed design strips away the clutter of the existing porch and replaces it with a clean flat roofed design with glazed frontage. This allows more of the brickwork of the original cottage beyond to be visible and through its distinctly contemporary design provides a visual contrast between what is old and what is new.

As well as being Grade II Listed, the property also lies within the Green Belt, Conservation Area and Biodiversity Opportunity Area.
