Chalfont St Giles – New House

A traditional Chiltern’s style home in Chalfont St Giles

This 8,500sqft new build family home was built in 2005.  JDA’s brief was to design a traditional Chiltern’s style house that would sit comfortably in it’s setting and make the best use of the wonderful site.

Based around a T-shaped plan, the more intimate, formal entertaining rooms are positioned at the front of the property, with the open plan, family spaces are located to the rear and open onto the large garden.  To give the house a human scale, and so as not to be overbearing on the site, each point of the ‘T’ reduces to singe storey height while the tallest part of the house, containing the attic rooms, is located in the centre of the plan, at the furthest point from neighbouring houses.
